Make your own way to Katoomba Falls Reserve on Cliff Drive Katoomba, by 8am. (All-day free parking available.) Following the meet-and-greet and briefing by your guide/s, we begin our trek. After marvelling at the power of the Falls as the water cascades into the Valley below, we walk through to Echo Point, the most popular lookout in the Blue Mountains, for views of the iconic Three Sisters. After making use of the amenities if required we’re back on the clifftop trail passing numerous lesser-known lookouts all of which offer a different perspective of the Jamison Valley. Whilst we spend most of our time high above the Valley, we’ll also pass through a number of pockets of lush deep-green remnant rainforest where a quick splash of the cool creek water on our faces will provide a welcome relief if the day is a hot one. These pockets of rainforest will also allow us the opportunity to listen for birds calls and perhaps even see a lyrebird. The trail is not devoid of steps as this is the Blue Mountains! There will be sections of trail that we can stride out on the flats, and there will be sections that we’ll take our time descending and ascending. With the works being undertaken on the trail, the walk is in-the-most, of a high quality with structured steps and compacted and well-drained surfaces. This allows us to focus more on the macro natural world with its spectacular views and on the micro world with its delightful flowers and rock formations. Our day concludes with a final view from high above the most well-known waterfall of the Blue Mountains – Wentworth Falls. A delicious gourmet sandwich of your selection will be prepared by a local deli and enjoyed on route. After the trek you will be transferred back to your vehicle at Katoomba Falls Reserve, where arrangements conclude.
