Tigersnake canyon is a “dry” canyon but don’t let that steer you away: it has all the attributes that are desired in a canyon, yet without swimming. We head here in winter, abseiling and scrambling through tight constrictions and through dark places. Tigersnake has 4 abseils within the canyon, all unique and challenging in different ways: the highlight being a 27m free hanging abseil down into the dark between the narrow canyon walls. Fantastic views over wilderness valleys and good chances of seeing kangaroos and wallabies on the drive in make this a great experience of some of the best areas that the Blue Mountains has to offer.
