Hole in the Wall Canyon

Hole in the Wall canyon
One of the hidden gems of the Blue Mountains, Hole in the Wall is a spectacularly narrow, varied and interesting canyon with breathtaking rock formations. There are two main abseils, one is an 18 metre freefall through a hole in the floor of the canyon, and the other is a 10 metre slippery log abseil – straight through a waterfall. There is waterjumps, swimming and an underground glowworm-lit cave, where the fantastic display of glowworms is as impressive as the night sky. A highlight of the trip is exiting from the glowworm cave via a short squeeze with packs off. The canyon ends on a sunny rock shelf at the waters edge. The walk out takes 1 and ½ hours, the first 20 minutes involves the most strenuous walking.
